1. How accurate was the movie?

The movie was inaccurate in many places. Many parts in the movie were touched too lightly, and there were parts that were not in the movie that should've. For instance, it does not show how the doors got together. It cuts from Jim singing "Moonlight Drive" to Ray on Venice Beach and Ray wanting to put together a rock band, to all 4 of the doors jamming in a garage. It does not show how the doors got together, and doesn't even mention the band Ray had before The Doors in early 1965, Rick & The Ravens. It shows the doors getting famous way too fast. It went from the doors jamming in a garage, to singing at the sunset strip, to the whiskey-a-go-go, then to being #1 on the charts with their hit song "Light My Fire." It did not mention their demo songs, their small gigs, or their climb to the top. The movie portrayed that they did not CLIMB to the top, they took a huge jump to the top. The movie also portrayed too much of Jim's dark and destructive side. It showed him as a 24 hour drunkin' druggy demon. Jim had a life outside of all that. Many scenes in the movie didn't really even happen, like the thanksgiving turkey dinner, the 1968 outside concert in san francisco with the bonfire, and the scene where jim locked pam in the closet and set it on fire. This scene is especially disturbing, as it not only portrays Jim as an alcoholic drug addict, but also as a murderer. Jim was definitely not like that! The Doors have gone on record stating that the movie was innacurate, but all had different opinions. The one who hated it with a vengence was Ray. He has practically protested against this movie.
In conclusion, see this movie for the entertainment, not for the knowledge!

2. Were there any cameos by the remaining doors?

Yes. Drummer John Densmore makes 3 appearances in the movie as the last engineer. At the very beginning, right after the New Haven Concert scene, and right before the scene where Jim dies in Paris. Confirmations have not been made, but it may be possible that guitarist Robby Krieger can be seen in the audience while Jim is singing "The End" at the whiskey, as there is a man in the audience that looks exactly like him. You have to look real carefully! Krieger did participate in the movie as Frank Whaley's guitar instructor. (Frank Whaley was the actor who portrayed Krieger.) A cameo was also made by Patricia Kennealy, who was the high priestess at Jim & Patricia's wedding.

3. I have the soundtrack and there is a song called "Heroin" by the band, Velvet Underground & Nico. There was another Velvet Underground song in the movie. What is the song called and which album is it on?

The title is "Venus In Furs".

4. Did Jim Morrison REALLY expose himself at the Miami Concert in 1969?

The answer is no. Jim did not expose himself, but he did tease the audience saying that he would.

5. Did Jim Morrison really get Patricia Kennealy pregnant in 1970?

This is unknown. We do not know whether Jim really did get her pregnant, and if he did if she went through with an abortion. There is a singer named Cliff Morrison who claims to be the son of Jim.

6. Did Jim really marry Patricia Kennealy?

The only confirmation made is by Patricia Kennealy herself. It is not certain whether it is a lie, or true. Patricia claims she was Jim's only wife and that Pam and Jim were not married. Although, books on the Jim and the doors say they were not married, and jim and pam were.

7. Is there a special edition or director's cut available for the movie?

Yes, as a matter of fact, but it is only available for laser disc. I have not seen it, but I hear it is good. It contains 65 minutes of suplimental footage, 5 additional scenes, pictures, original music, and new slip cover. But the suggested retail price is currently set at $125. If I had a laser disc player, I'd buy it.
